Thesis Editing
In the summer, I offer thesis editing services with a quick turnaround time (usually 2-3 days). I have edited many theses for students who speak/write English as a Second Language. Because ULL has many students from other countries who come here for graduate studies, I have assisted them in readying their theses for submission to the Graduate School. I have worked with students in the fields of Engineering, Geology, and Chemistry, and I focus on correct English spelling, usage, and grammar. The Graduate School edits with formatting in mind. I will edit the draft on paper with a pencil or on a word document with a change tracker, whichever the client prefers. My base rate is $100 and I ask for a sample of the work in order to determine how quickly I can get the draft back to my client.
Novel Editing
I have edited three novels, two of which have since been published, and which are linked below. I focus on correct English spelling, usage, and grammar, but also ask questions or make recommendations about clarity, chronology, or inconsistencies in plot. My novel editing rate is $3 per page, and again, I ask for a sample of the work in order to determine how quickly I can get the draft back to my client.
